The Barton County Attorney's Office has an opening for a full-time position of Assistant County Attorney. Duties include representing the State of Kansas in the prosecution of assigned criminal, juvenile, traffic, child in need of care, and care and treatment cases. Primary case assignments for this position will likely be traffic, misdemeanor, and some felonies. Starting salary range is $100,000-$112,000 plus benefits depending upon experience. Attorneys are allowed one work from home day per week when schedules allow. Minimum qualifications include a juris doctorate from an accredited college or university and admission to the Kansas Bar. 3L students planning to take the July Bar Exam are encouraged to apply. Must exercise independent judgement, good organizational decision-making skills. Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and must have the ability to interpret laws, regulations, local codes and legal documents. The position requires that the employee have no felony convictions and no misdemeanor convictions for crimes involving moral turpitude or dishonesty.
